Rob Simmelkjaer is an American lawyer and television journalist. ==Education and career== He served as an anchor and correspondent for ABC News Now and ABC NewsOne from December 2005 to July 2007, and was the host of such original programs as, ''Inside the Newsroom'', ''In the Mix'' and ''Guilt or Innocence''. In July 2007, he returned to ESPN. Prior to his work with News Now, Simmelkjaer worked with ESPN as an assistant to its president George Bodenheimer in matters of strategic direction and management. Upon Simmelkjaer's promotion to vice president, he led the six-year programming agreement between ESPN–ABC Sports and the National Basketball Association. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School, Simmelkjaer practiced law in New York City at Weil, Gotshal & Manges (2000–2001) and Cravath, Swaine & Moore (1997–2000) before working at ESPN. On September 12, 2011, he was named Senior Vice President, NBC Sports Ventures, where he is charged with leading international business development for the NBC Sports Group, including Golf Channel, NBC Sports, NBC Sports Radio and other businesses, and oversees the Group's stake in Universal Sports. He is also responsible for managing the NBC Sports Ventures unit, a collection of NBC owned businesses.
